The Maitreya Buddha is the Buddha of the future. Buddhas who have reached perfect enlightenment reside for a time in the Manorama-Paradise, a part of the peaceful Tushita heaven, where they proclaim the dharma to the deities, angles, and saints before returning to earth in the forms of the most prominent Buddhas to serve the age.
The mudra, or position of the hand and fingers, is symbolic of the first sermon given by Gautama Buddha following his enlightenment and has become a symbol for the setting into motion of the wheel of dharma teachings. Painted in the art style of Korea in acrylics on stretched canvas and signed by a renowned Thai artist, Udawn Srihawong, who specializes in Buddhist art. 14" x 16".
The Korean Matrieya Buddha original painting is commissioned by Boon Decor.
