The Buddha sits in deep samahdi (concentration of the mind in meditation) on a coiled Naga(snake). He is shielded from a raging rain storm by a hood of the multi-headed Nagga. This terracotta relief is taken from a 13th century art sandstone carving in Thailand. 7.5" x 3.5" x .5" (thick).
