This beautiful Kuan Yin statue is cast in the royal ease posture, "taking a short respite from saving the world." She is the bodhisattva associated with compassion, wisdom and healing. Her hand rests delicately on her knee, ready to rise and help those in need. Quan Yin is seated upon a weathered rock from which healing waters pour, her foot rests on a lotus, symbolizing her enlightened state of being. The great bodhisattva's name, (also spelled Quan Yin, Kwan Yin and known as Kuan Shih Yin) roughly translates from Chinese to “The One who hears the cries of the world.” Kuan Yin is not an image to be worshiped, but to be kept where one can see her and be reminded of our own qualities of equanimity, compassion, strength, wisdom and commitment to do all we can to relieve suffering in the world.
This beautiful Kuan Yin statue is commissioned by Boon Decor. The Quan Yin statue measures 19" high in solid bronze.
